「ここで待ってもバスは来ませんよ」: 譲歩の if

日本語では「ここで待っても」と言うのが自然な場面で，必ずしも even if が適切になるとはかぎらないらしい：

If you wait here, the bus won't pick you up. But if you wait at that bus stop over there, it will.
（この状況で，#Even if you wait here, the bus won't pick you up.）
